JR Screen Ruler is a free virtual ruler for your computer screen. The screen ruler is a great tool that allows you to accurately measure anything on your screen. This is especially useful when measuring graphics, web page browser sizes or whatever. Screen Ruler can display Pixels, Inches, Picas or Centimeters. It can also be helpful in measuring the size of photos in your PC.
The operation of the ruler is a simple process. Drag the ruler to the item whose measure is required and you can directly measure the length in Pixels, Inches, Picas or Centimeters. There is no installation required for the Ruler.
If the length of the ruler is not sufficient, then you can increase the length using the slider on the ruler. You can also make the ruler to measure vertical measurements by flipping it. The unit of measurement can be changed in the right click menu. There is also an option called Slide to Zero which will move the starting point (0) of the Ruler to the far left of your desktop screen. Another feature is Mark Center which will mark the exact center of the Ruler – if you have the Ruler set at 600 pixels – a vertical slash will appear at 300 pixels if you activate the Mark Center option.
There is also a minimize and close options on the left had side of the ruler. Overall an interesting and useful freeware especially if you are a web designer this could come handy for on screen measurements.
That’s a funny app… it might be used to measure the size of scanned images…
This is very useful for web developers. If you are in Linux, try KRuler. Very similar to this application.
Interesting and unique software. I’ve never seen other software with similar function. I’m sure that this is very useful.
