When you are working offline, emails and social messages, notifications, IMs are often distracting and annoying. In such cases when you are working on something important, you can disconnect yourself from Internet. InternetOff allows you to quickly turn off the internet so that you can go offline. When you need the connection, you can enable the internet easily for some period. This can be useful if you don’t want to be disturbed by incoming emails, social updates and other online services.
The app sits in the system tray and you can quickly hit the button to turn the Internet connection off. To turn your Internet connection back on, simple click the tray icon. You can choose to turn your Internet connection back on or limit it to 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
Probably one of the main problems of this app is that when you disable internet, it actually disables the network adaptor, which means if you are on a LAN, you will probably be disconnected from it as well.
i think a simple way to turn off the internet connection is to disable the LAN hardware. No need to install anything. You can enable the LAN later again with just another simple click.
