Windows 8 has one of the most important features in the form of start screen. The start screen in Windows 8 sports a totally different look when compared to Windows 7 and as soon as you login to Windows 8, you are shown the metro UI styled start screen and not the classic desktop in other versions of Windows. If you have been used to using the normal desktop, we had covered a tutorial on how to bypass start screen and open desktop.
Now we have another freeware tool which allows you to switch to classic desktop easily. Classic Starter is a free tool to quickly switch to desktop by skipping the Windows 8 start screen. Once you installed the app, just click on the Logon to Classic Desktop button when you run the app. This will enable classic desktop with the next logon.
If you want to switch it back to start screen, run the app again and this time the button will show “Logon to Metro desktop”
This app has been developed by MDL forum member, but he has uploaded it to file sharing service, so that it is available for download publicly.
