Take Control of Windows Registry Keys with RegOwnit

Most of the times when creating or editing registry keys in Windows 7, you might get the error that you do not have the requisite permission to create a new key. This is because of the fact that some vital registry keys does not have permission for editing. RegOwnit is a simple freeware tool for Windows which allows you to take ownership of a Registry key using Administrator, HomeUsers or the current Logged On User account.

Usage of the app is simple, select the registry location, then select the user account and finally the type of permission. You need to enter the registry address in the field for which you want to change the permission.

Two tasks which the app can perform are;

  • Take Ownership of Registry Keys
  • Change Permissions on Registry Keys

It is recommended that you take a back up of registry before making any changes.
