AVI ReComp is a freeware application which provides users with AVI recompression. Apart from AVI Compression, it also supports subtitle embedding and configuration, video resizing and cropping, audio conversion and batch encoding. And as the name of the application suggests, it works only with AVI video files. AVI ReComp supports not only files containing audio streams but AVIs without any audio as well and the uses only XviD codec for the recompression process.
When you add subtitles, you can configure the fonts, its style, position, color etc using the options.
Using Resampling tools available, you can adjust the resolution of your movie. The Cropping Tool is another advanced utility that can be used to crop black borders or just change the resolution of your source image.
The AVI ReComp installer packs additional software distributions (VirtualDubMod, XVid, AVI Synth and VobSub) that the application needs in order to re-encode your video files. The settings menu has pretty good options for video recompression.
AVI ReComp supports the following subtitle formats: TMPlayer (.txt), MicroDVD (.txt / .sub), SubViewer2 (.sub), SubRip (.srt), Advanced SubStation Alpha (.ass), SubStation Alpha (.ssa). AVI ReComp will transform your AVI re-encoding into newly-created video files according to your specifications. AVI ReComp is a nice tool to recompress your AVI files.
