Dropbox is one of the most popular online file storage and sync services and you can store MP3 files as well. DropTunes is a free online service which accesses and plays your audio files on Dropbox. You need to sign in with your Dropbox account and then open the folder which has the MP3 files. DropTunes creates a /Public/DropTunes folder in your account to store configuration files. This folder is regularly modified as new songs are requested to be played.
DropTunes just need a modern browser and a Dropbox account, you can play any number of audio files using this tool. There are two modes of playback;
1. MP3 playback using Flash- This is supported on all browsers and the music is played using Flash.
2. HTML5 Player- This is supported on browser which supports HTML5 and it can play files like M4a, ogg and wav.
The playback and streaming time is dependent on the number of files stored in the account, the more the number of file, more the time it takes for playback.
