LockItTight is a pretty useful tool which allows you to find the location of your laptop and also monitor its usage. LockItTight is a desktop and web based tool which allows you to monitor your laptop or workstation and track its usage by getting a screen capture and also camera captures. It provides features to help you locate, track and even retrieve your lost computer. You need to install the software on your PC and then register for a free account at LockItTight.
Once installed and configured on your computer, LockItTight client software will report the location of your computer to LockItTight server at a specified interval. You can set the time interval for monitoring and also set if you want to have screen and camera captures. These are then uploaded to your online account and you can track it online.
The desktop tool does not require any attention as it sends the data based on the time interval you have set. Location tracking feature allows you to see the current location of your laptop in Google maps. If your computer equipped with a webcam, LockItTight client software will take a shot and send the picture to LockItTight server at at a specified interval.
You can add multiple devices to your account for monitoring. This is very similar to Prey Project which we had covered previously, but with more features.
