Previously we have covered a free online service and a freeware tool, Icon Generator to create web 2.0 icons. Iconer is a new free desktop tool based on Adobe Air which lets you to create icons easily. You can customize the look and feel of icons and add your own text or background. Iconer generates icons in 4 ‘png’ files with the size 16, 32, 48 and 128 pixels. These icons are generated quickly in one single step.
User can add color, gradient, image, text, border and glance before generating the icons. Iconer has some basic filters such as ‘Bevel’, ‘Shadow’, ‘Glow’, ‘Blur’. Also user can change blendmode.
Combining all this tools you can create wonderful icons for your Air applications in few minutes. We tried this tool and found it very easy to use, although there are quite a few limitations.
