We have covered many tools like Snap MD5, Nero MD5 Verifier and Verify File Checksum to check the file checksum and verify the file integrity. ExactFile is another freeware tool for Windows which can calculate the file checksums and record it. Apart from this, another useful feature of this tool is that it can search through an entire folder and record the hash for each file it comes across. It supports multiple checksum routines (hashes), like MD5, SHA1, CRC32, RIPEMD and others.
If you want to get the checksum for a single file, then you can just browse the file and select the hash methods which you want to calculate. If you want to find the checksum for files in a folder, then you can use the Create Digest option. In this case, you can select only one hash methods.
It supports recursive directory scanning and also has support for very big files, If it’s on your hard drive, ExactFile can handle it.
ExactFile is a nice utility to verify the file integrity before using it.
