Extract Text from Damaged or Corrupted MS Office/ Open Office Documents

There could be many reasons for your MS Office or Open Office documents to get corrupt and once corrupted, you might not be able to read any data from it. Corrupt office2txt is a freeware tool which can recover and extract the text even from damaged or corrupted Microsoft Office and Open Office files 2.X and 3.X files with the extensions .doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, odt, ods and odp. It can also extract data from template and macro variants of these extensions such as dot, xlt and pps if they are changed to the correct corresponding extensions mentioned.

While it recovers MS Office document with the basic formatting, it can recover advanced formatting for Open Office documents.

The documents are extracted to .txt (text) format. The text extraction is accomplished with the use of the command line application. The application is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.
