WLWBackup is a free backup utility for Windows Live Writer. Windows Live Writer is one of the most popular desktop blogging client and this back up utility is helpful if you are installing Windows Live Writer on a new PC. This application allows you to back up blogs, blog templates, links, drafts, recent posts and also any plugins installed for Live Writer. You can also selectively back up items from Live Writer using this tool.
After selecting the items to back up click on the backup button and select the location to save the back up. The application creates a back up file with the Windows Live Writer back up extension.
You can restore the backup from the same window as well, but you need to run the application as administrator. If you select to restore back up, all the existing data will be over written by the new back up.
Requirements for this application;
- Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed.
- Works on Windows Vista or Win7
- Works on 32 bit and 64 bit machines.
- Needs administrator rights to restore the data
- WLW should be closed during the restore process.
