WhatsApp now Supports Document Transfer

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messenger services with billions of messages sent every month. With each and every update WhatsApp has been improving in features. They brought in the voice calls, then came back and restore to Google Drive using your Google ID and now WhatsApp has introduced document sharing.

Initially, only photos and videos can be shared via WhatsApp, but it seems with the latest version a new option called document has been added (see screen shot below).

Whatsapp documents

Here is a quick video.

This was shared by on Twitter and the version number is 2.12.453 and this was seen on Android. We also have the same version on our Android phone, but we didn’t see this option. Probably this is being rolled out in phases. With this option you can share documents like .doc or .PDF files to your contact easily instead of sharing the link.

Do you see this option in your WhatsApp? Share your feedback if you have used document transfer.

Update: In case you want the latest version APK, you can download it from here.
