Xiaomi has had a great run in India in the last 6 months and their devices have been hugely popular which includes the Mi3, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note (4G) and now they have released the Redmi 2. Xiaomi has a PC suite for managing their phones, but the problem was this software was limited to Chinese and the English version was not available.
Now, Xiaomi has officially released the English version of Mi PC suite and users can manage their Xiaomi devices using this app. Previously this Desktop application was called as Mi Phone Manager, now it has became a Mi PC Suite.
Users can manage various aspects of your Mi phone, including installed Apps, photos, videos, notes, music, messages and contacts.
If you look into the detailed features of the app, you can use this program to uninstall and upgrade apps, upload and play music and video files, manage contacts and SMS. You can even create notes using the app that can subsequently be accessed on the device. You can also manage the phone including taking a backup or updating with the new firmware.
The app has a screencasting option, where in you can replicate your phone’s screen on your PC; useful when you want to display your phone’s content on a desktop or laptop. We tested this feature and it works very well although there was a slight lag.
Overall, the PC Suite is a helpful tool which allows you to completely take control of your phone from PC. Although there are apps like AirDroid which have similar functionality, the Mi PC Suite is tailor made for Xiaomi devices. You can download the app free of cost from Xiaomi website and you just need to create an account to get started.

I installed MI pc suite on pc. I debugged usb on my redmi note 4g in ‘devloper’ mode. connected phone by usb to pc. neither pc suite recognizes the phone nor does it appear in the list of drives on ‘ my computer’. desperate as internal memory exhausted, pl help.

check whether your computers microsoft windows has service pack 3. xiaomi works only on service pack3.

I downloaded pc suit and when I connect it shows checking 60% and nothing happens…
internal memory is shown in and I can do any thing within it.

Every update to MIUI introduce some new bugs/issues. It’ll be like we have to think 1000 times whether to update or not to update. I am saying each and every update has made at-least one thing not to work which was working fine before the update.
Now, this new update 7.1.3.0 makes PC Suite not to recognize Redmi 2 phone. It’s stuck at 30% and after few seconds says it couldn’t recognize.
