Microsoft Announces Office for iPhone, iPad and Android Tablets

Earlier this year, Microsoft had announced the Office for iPad with Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps and is available in read and edit modes. Now the company has announced that Office is coming to iPhone, Android tablets and also an improved version for iPad. The new Office for iPhone apps for Word, Excel and PowerPoint offer the same beautiful iPad experience, optimized for the iPhone. Users can start downloading the app today.

Just like the iPad version, you need a Microsoft account and an Office 365 subscription to unlock complete features. But you can still use the app to edit and create documents. Further the new apps will also have integration with Dropbox.

The apps have pretty good interface on the iPhone and you can view your documents, spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations on the phone.

Along with this, Microsoft has also announced Office for Android tablet. Customers can sign up for the Preview starting today. General availability is expected in early 2015.

The company also announced updates to the Office for iPad apps for Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Customers can download the new apps today. Finally there will also be a touch optimized version of Office for Windows 10, additional details are coming soon, so expect the version to be available in 2015 when Windows 10 will be released.
