At the event today, Apple today announced two new iPhones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. While the iPhone 6 comes with a 4.7 inch display, the iPhone 6 Plus has a massive 5.5 inch display. The new phones comes with Retina display with a 326ppi and comes with a resolution of 1334 x 750 for iPhone 6 and 1920 x 1080 for iPhone 6 Plus. The phone 6 is also thinner at 6.9mm while the 6 Plus is 7.1mm thick.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are powered by the Apple-designed A8 chip and this has up to 25% faster processing power and up to 50% faster graphics.
iPhone 6 comes 802.11ac and Wi-Fi speeds are up to three times faster than iPhone 5s. and it also features Wi-Fi calling is a new feature for making high-quality calls when cell conditions are poor. Both the phones come with iOS8 which has new features and improved performances.
Camera:
The new iPhone 6 comes with a 8MP camera, true-tone flash. 1.5 micron pixels, 2.2 aperture. The cameras can do 1080p at 30 or 60 FPS and also Slo-Mo can do 240 FPS. The iPhone 6 has “digital” image stabilization, but the 6 Plus has optical image stabilization. It also has a new FaceTime HD camera on the front with f/2.2 aperture and a new sensor.
Battery Life:
The iPhone 6 Plus claims 24 hours of 3G talk time. The iPhone 6 claims 14 hours of 3G talk time.
Pricing and Availability:
iPhone 6 is priced at $199 for 16GB, $299 for 64, $399 for 128GB while iPhone 6 Plus starts at $299 for 16GB, $399 for 64, $499 for 128GB. These prices are for 2 year contract in US. iPhone 6 and 6 Plus coming September 19 in the US, pre-orders starts on the 12th. iPhone 6 will be available in 115 countries by the end of the year.
