Autorun files are one of the most common type of infections in USB drives and most of the times they run automatically when you insert the USB and thus infecting the PC. Autorun Eater is a freeware application for Windows which lets you alert on autorun files detected in USB drives. It monitors your USB ports and alerts you when a USB contains an autorun.inf file. It allows you to inspect the autorun instructions and files they execute and optionally ignore or remove the autorun.inf file.
The app works from the system tray and notifies you when it detects an autorun file. If you choose to ignore the file, Autorun Eater will not prompt you again for that particular drive.
It also comes with other features include audible an alert, automatic autorun backup (in case you delete an autorun.inf by mistake), optional auto removal and more.
This is badly needed specially when I use pendrives from college or cyber cafe terminals! Works well amazingly
