Volumouse is a free application which lets you to control the sound volume in Windows with a wheel mouse. This is useful if your keyboard does not have the in-built volume keys and also useful for reducing the volume quickly. It allows you to define a set of rules for determining when the wheel will be used for changing the sound volume. For example you can set the application to increase or decrease the volume when mouse scroll happens combined with ALT or SHIFT key.
You can specify when the volume is to be reduced and if this condition is not satisfied, then the mouse acts as a normal one and does not reduce the sound volume.
Apart from this, you can also customize volume controls like reduce only CD volume or microphone volume etc. You can also set the channels for increasing or reducing the volume.
Volumouse also has the option to install additional plugins like, hiding the application and also opening and closing of the CD/DVD drive.
Volumouse is a good free apps to customize the sound volume settings in Windows. It works well on Windows 98 and above versions.
