Twitter is one of the most popular social network out there today with millions of tweets being sent out every minute. Like any other social platform, there are millions of accounts which are fake or not being used. But since any user can follow you on Twitter (unless you have blocked it explicitly), there might be many fake followers for your Twitter account. Apart from these fake followers, there might be genuine followers but they might not be active on Twitter. And finally there are genuine and active followers. So how do you find out the percentage of each of these users for your Twitter account? There are couple of free web apps which can determine the percentage of fake and inactive followers on Twitter.

Fake Follower Check is a free web service which allows you to check the amount of spam accounts following you. It checks your Twitter followers to see if they are real or fake. Or in other words, it checks to see how many spam accounts are following you. For those of you with 50,000 followers or less the app says they provide a very accurate insight into how many inactive and fake followers you have.

Apart from this it also show the amount of inactive users following you.

2. Fake Followers:

Fake Followers is yet another free service which allows you to find out the share of fake followers for your account. This service has a methodology to find out if a user is fake or not based on the tweets, its followers, spam phrases tweeted etc. Although the Fake Followers check is in beta, it’s pretty accurate, with a small error margin of roughly 10 – 15% as claimed by the developer.

Although these services help you find out spam accounts following you, they are never accurate as they employ different methods to find out a fake account.
