When it comes to information, we all rely on the powerful Wikipedia and we also share links from Wiki. QR Codes are one of the best way to share information as most of the mobile handsets have capability to read QR Codes. QRpedia is a new mobile Web based system which uses QR codes to deliver Wikipedia articles to users and this is delivered in their preferred language. Currently the service supports almost 40 languages.

QRpedia

The use is very simple, just enter the Wiki URL and the system automatically generates a QR Code for the link which can be used on mobiles. When the QR code is scanned by QRpedia server it uses Wikipedia’s API to determine whether there is a version of the specified Wikipedia article in the language used by the mobile device, and if so, returns it in a mobile-friendly format.

If there is no version of the article available in the preferred language, then the QRpedia server performs a search for the article title on the relevant language’s Wikipedia, and returns the results.

The tool is already being used by several museums to display the link to Wiki.

Try QRpedia to generate Wiki QR codes.
