Mobile World congress or MWC as it is called, is an annual trade show run by the GSMA and held at Barcelona, Spain. It is the platform for many global smartphone vendors to launch their flagship product for that particular year. MWC also gets huge coverage and hence OEMs look to capitalize on this by launching their best products. MWC 2017 is underway at Barcelona and this year also we have seen a lot of new smartphones with new technology and features being launched. We have some great flagships launch at MWC 2017 and at the same time there are some interesting mid range phones. In this post, we will have a look at 5 best smartphones from MWC 2017.

1. LG G6

LG has announced their latest flagship device and also the successor for LG G5, the all new LG G6. It features a 5.7 inch display with a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 Quad-core (2×2.35 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) processor, Adreno 530 GPU coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage. The highlight of the phone is the dual rear camera. It comes with 13+13MP, Dual-LED flash and f/1.8+f/2.4 aperture, 125-degree wide-angle view and OIS. There is also a 12MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The battery of the device is 3300mAh and is equipped with Quick Charge 3.0. The phone is also water resistant.

LG flagships are known for great camera and if you are looking for the best camera experience, LG G6 is definitely one of the devices to look for in 2017.

2. Moto G5 Plus:

Moto G5 Plus is the successor of Moto G4 Plus launched last year. The phone is a mid-range device and comes with stock like experience and this is one of the highlights of the phone. Moto G5 Plus is also expected to come with a good camera. The phone packs a smaller 5.2 inch Full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor coupled with either 2, 3 or 4GB RAM. The phone also packs a 12MP rear f/1.7 lens along with 5MP front snapper. It also packs a 3000mAh battery with rapid charging.

The phone is expected to launch in India on March 15th.

3. Nokia 3, 5 and 6:

Nokia made a come back to smartphone segment with the launch of three new mid range/ budget devices. The newly launched phones are Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. While the official announcement was made at MWC 2017, the phone will be available only by June 2017. While the Nokia 6 is the device with better specs, Nokia 3 is a budget offering. Another thing to look for in Nokia smartphones is the camera. All the three phones run on Android Nougat (7.0)

4. Sony Xperia XZ Premium:

Sony has launched their flagship device, the Xperia XZ Premium. While Sony’s phones do not get much coverage and sales like Samsung’s Galaxy or LG’s flagships, Xperia XZ Premium comes with impressive specs. It is powered by Snapdragon 835 along with 4GB of RAM and is equipped with 5.5-inch display running at 4K. It is finished in glass and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device also comes with 19MP rear camera and 13MP front camera. The phone has 2900mAh battery with Quick charge 3.0 support.

5. Huawei P10 Plus:

Huawei’s latest flagship is the P10 Plus which is the successor of the popular P9 launched last year. Similar to the P9, the P10 Plus has a dual camera set up sourced from Leica and this is the highlight of the phone. The P10 Plus comes with a 5.5 inch Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440) IPS NEO LCD Display and is powered by company’s in-house processor, the Hi-Silicon Kirin 960 Octa Core Processor with Mali G71MP8 GPU and it is coupled with either 4GB or 6GB RAM. It packs a dual 12MP (Color) + 20MP (Monochrome) f/2.0 rear camera with laser autofocus and a 8MP f/1.7 front camera. The phone also comes with 3,750mAH Battery.

Samsung is yet to announce their flagship device, the Galaxy S8 and this will happen in March. We have also seen few other smartphones from Gionee and other vendors launch at MWC 2017.
