5 Smartphones with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0

One of the main issues faced by smartphone users till date is the battery life. There has been quite a lot of innovation in smartphone hardware, but battery performance has always been a concern. While we saw quite a lot of OEMs increasing the battery capacity for better performance, we now have better and quicker charging technology.

Quick Charge 3.0 from Qualcomm is a new technology announced towards the end of last year and it can charge the smartphones in quick time.

What is Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0? 

Quick Charge 3.0 is a new technology using which devices can be charged four times faster than regular charging technology, which means you can start using the device quickly. It also works twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and 38% faster than Quick Charge 2.0.

Quick Charge 3.0 employs Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV), a new algorithm which allows your device to determine what power level to request at any point in time, enabling optimum power transfer while maximizing efficiency.

Quick Charge 3.0 is supported on Snapdragon 820, 620, 618, 617, and 430 chipsets. So in case you are looking for a new smartphone with QC 3.0, here are your options.

Xiaomi Mi5:

Xiaomi Mi5 is the current flagship device from the Chinese company and it was announced at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. It is one of the first devices to run Snapdragon 820 Chipset and comes with 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. The phone has a 5.2 inch Full HD display, 16MP rear camera and 4MP front camera. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with 3000mAh battery. The phone supports Quick Charge 3.0, but the charger included is QC 2.0.

HTC 10/ Lifestyle:

The HTC 10 comes with 5.2 inch Quad HD Display and is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM. The phone comes with a metallic body and features 32GB or 64GB of storage which is expandable via micro SD card. The device is 12 ultra pixel rear camera and 5MP front camera with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and 3000 mAh battery. The phone comes with QC 3.0.

The Lifestyle variant of the phone comes with Snapdragon 652 chipset with 3GB of RAM.

 

LG G5:

LG G5 comes with a 5.2 inch Quad HD display and is the first modular smartphone. Under the hood is the latest and most powerful Snapdragon 820 Quad core processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. There is 32GB onboard storage which is expandable to 2TB via micro SD card. On the imaging front, the G5 sports dual camera, a 16MP primary camera, and an 8MP secondary camera. The front camera is again an 8MP shooter.

The phone ships with 2800mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

LeEco Le Max 2:

The Le Max 2 is the flagship phone for the company and it sports a 5.7? QHD screen (1,440 x 2,560px) and is powered by the powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with a whopping 6GB of RAM. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with custom ROM. There is 21MP rear camera and 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It also houses a 3100mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.

Lenovo ZUK Z2 Pro:

Lenovo-backed ZUK has come up with their flagship, the ZUK Z2 Pro and it features a 5.2 inch Full HD Super AMOLED panel and it runs on Snapdragon 820 chipset with 6GB of RAM. The phone has 13MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. It runs on Android Marshmallow with custom UI. There is 3100mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
