Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 3 back in November last year as an upgrade to Redmi Note 2 (review). There are two variants available for this device, one with MediaTek Helio X10 Octa core chipset and the recently launched one with Snapdragon 650 Hexa Core processor.
Xiaomi has today launched the Snapdragon variant in India. The phone comes with 5.5 inch Full HD display which also has the sunlight display panel found on Mi4i. Apart from this the phone is coupled with 3GB of RAM and has 32GB internal storage along with micro SD expansion slot. There is also a 2GB and 16GB variant.
The Redmi Note 3 comes with an upgraded 16MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash and front facing 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with custom MIUI 7. If you have been using a Xiaomi device previously you might be knowing that the company focuses on MIUI more than latest Android.
The phone also comes with micro SD card for expanding the storage and it is a hybrid dual SIM card. The phone also comes with 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and IR blaster.
The phone also comes with a fingerprint scanner located on the rear panel and this is the first Xiaomi phone to feature a fingerprint scanner. The fingerprint sensor on the rear panel can unlock the device in 0.3 seconds according to the company. Another speciality of the phone is the massive 4000mAh battery included which is non-removable. This should be able to give you atleast 1.5 days of backup with moderate usage.
The phone is priced Rs 9999 for the 2GB and 16GB variant. The 3GB RAM and 32GB variant will come for Rs 11,999. The devices will be available on Mi.com and Amazon starting March 9th. It will be later expanded to Flipkart and Snapdeal.
