OnePlus is celebrating two years of existence on December 17th and the company so far has announced three smartphones, the OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and the recently launched OnePlus X. All the three phones have been sold via an unique invite system wherein you need to get an invite code to buy the phone. While OnePlus One was a great hit all over the world, the OnePlus 2 sales were not great due to the invite system.
The company has announced that the flagship OnePlus 2 will be available invite free forever starting midnight of December 5th.
In a forum post, Co founder Carl Pei mentioned about the invite system.
“The invite system has been crucial to letting us scale our operations and has given our fans a unique way to share OnePlus with the people in their lives. But we are always trying to enhance the OnePlus experience for you and taking risks to push ourselves and show real improvements. That’s why we’re making the OnePlus 2 invite-free … forever!”
The company mentions that starting December 5th, OnePlus 2 will be invite free for ever and if you are in India, you can buy it from Amazon. Apart from this, OnePlus X will also go invite free for three days from December 5-7. The company also announced few other offers including:
