ASUS announced its Zenfone series Android smartphones back in July and they released 4 models, the Zenfone 4 (4 inch and 4.5 inch), Zenfone 5 and also Zenfone 6. We have already reviewed the Zenfone 4 (Review) and also the Zenfone 5 (review). ASUS had announced that the 4.5 inch variant of Zenfone 4, codenamed A450CG will be available in India exclusively on Flipkart and was available for purchase last week.

The device does have some upgraded features when compared to A400CG variant. The phone comes with 4.5 inch FWVGA display and is powered by Intel Atom dual core processor with 1GB RAM. There is also 8GB internal storage which is expandable via microSD card. It also comes with a 8MP camera with flash, an upgrade from 5MP camera on other variant. This device also runs on Android KitKat and is the first Zenfone to come with Android 4.4 out of the box.

Here is the unboxing video of the device.

The box comes with Zenfone 4, USB cable and the charger. The phone also comes with Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection and has dual SIM card support.

The phone is nice to hold in hands, thanks to the excellent build quality and the design. Also the 4.5 inch screen size is suited for most hands.

Similar to other Zenfones, it comes with power and volume keys on the right side and they have chrome finish. The back panel has a matte finish and is removable.

The 8MP camera and the LED flash sits on the rear panel with the Zenfone and Intel branding at the bottom along with speakers. The back panel is removable and you can insert the dual SIM cards and the micro SD card. The battery on the device is non removable.

The display is 4.5 inch and has a resolution of 854 X480 pixels (FWVGA) and above the display there is a front facing camera and ear piece along with ASUS logo.

The UI on the device is Zen UI and there isn’t any major change in the UI with KitKat. The notification center is the same which we find on other Zenfones. On first use, the UI feels smooth although we need to test it to see if there is any lag.

We will have detailed review of the device soon, so stay tuned!

I would suggest ASUS Zenfone A450CG, the 4.5 inch variant, much better than Canvas A1, only if you are not worried abt latest Android updates.
