Xiaomi Launches three Smartphones in India, a Quick look into the Specs

Xiaomi, one of the leading mobile Internet companies in China, had announced its foray into the Indian market with a range of flagship Mi smartphones which includes the Mi3, Redmi Note and also Redmi 1S and will go on sale in the coming weeks. The Mi3 comes with impressive specs for a flagship device and has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 441 PPI resolution with Corning Gorilla glass protection and is powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM 8974AB) processor. There is 2GB RAM and also 16GB internal storage available on the device.

Mi3 also comes with 13MP camera with LED flash and full HD recording. There is also 2MP front facing camera on the device. The device runs on MIUI V5 which is a custom ROM on top of Android 4.4 KitKat.

Along with the flagship, the company also announced two other devices in the entry level and the mid range, the Redmi 1S and Redmi Note.

The Redmi Note comes with comes with a 5.5 inch HP display with IPS technology and is powered by a 1.7Ghz Octa Core processor with Mali 450GPU. The device has 1GB of RAM and also comes with 8GB internal storage which is expandable to 32GB via microSD card. The Redmi 1S comes with 4.7 inch HD IPS display, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8228) processor with Adreno 305 GPU and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) based MIUI ROM. The device also comes with a 8MP rear camera with LED flash f/2.2 aperture and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera.

As of now Xiaomi will be selling only the Mi3 and the other two devices will be available in the coming weeks.

Flipkart is the launch partner for Xiaomi in India. Mi fans can now buy Mi 3 through an easy 3-step process:

  1. Login using his/her Flipkart account
  2. Register for the sale on Mi Store on Flipkart (www.flipkart.com/Mi)
  3. Buy a device on the day of sale (22nd July). Only customers who register before July 22 will be able to purchase their Mi 3 on the sale day
