5 Useful Apps to Recover a Lost or Stolen iPhone or iPad

A decade back most of us used to have a feature phone with a SIM card along and the main purpose was to make and receive calls. But today things have changed a lot, smartphones and tablets do a lot of our work and also they store lot of personal information including photos, documents and more. This is an official app from Apple to track iOS devices. If you misplace your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, the Find My iPhone app will let you use another iOS device to find it and protect your data. Simply install this free app on another iOS device, open it, and sign in with your Apple ID. Find My iPhone will help you locate your missing device on a map, play a sound, display a message, remotely lock your device, or erase all the data on it.

2. GadgetTrak:

GadgetTrak is an useful app to locate your lost or stolen iPhone or iPad (it has native support for iPad). When your device is missing, log into your account using any web browser and enable tracking immediately. GadgetTrak will spring to life and generate location reports, including map points, longitude & latitude and IP address to help you pinpoint your lost device. It can even snap photos of the thief or person who is using it. For extra security, enable the “Deleting Apps” restriction in Settings App->General->Restrictions. The app is priced at $3.99.

Phone Trace is a GPS-centric app which lets you pinpoint a phone or the location of any person carrying a phone running the app. It does not include any further security features (remote lock or erase, for instance) but doesn’t seem to require any sort of subscription. The app is priced at $4.99.

5. Navizon:

Navizon is a free app which allows you to locate the current location of your phone. Navizon is a positioning system that combines Wi-Fi and Cellular triangulations. The iPhone version relies solely on the built-in Core Location API. It comes with only basic features to track your phone.
