Blogger (blogs are available at blogspot.com URL) is a product from Google which allows you to create free blog and host your files. For any blog to properly index in Google or other search engines like Bing and Yahoo, you need to have XML sitemaps. XML sitemaps are basically a simple file with links to all the available articles on that particular site arranged according to its date and priority. The XML sitemap file will help Google index your articles.

For WordPress blogs, there are many ways to create it with the help of plugins. But for a Blogger blog, there is a restriction as only the latest entries are available by default in the sitemap. So what is the solution to this?

XML Sitemap for blogger is a free web tool from Digital Inspiration which allows you to create sitemap for your Blogspot blogs.

XML sitemap for blogger

All you need to do is to enter the URL of your blogspot (or Blogger blog) and hit the generate sitemap button. You get the code for sitemap which can be used on your blog. This tool will generate a complete XML sitemap of your Blogger blog that mentions all your blog posts and not just the recently published blog posts.

To add this new sitemap, open your Blogger dashboard and then go to Settings – > Search Preferences, now select enable Custom robots.txt option and paste the code. Now save the settings and you are done.

This will ensure that Google search bots are able to find all your posts and not just the recent ones.
