Although desktop versions of Instant messengers like Windows Live Messenger, Google talk, Yahoo Messenger etc comes with more features, sometimes we need to have web messengers as you might not have the permission to install apps. Imo.im is a free web-based service that allows users to hold text, voice, and video chats on multiple instant messaging protocols. IT supports almost all popular Instant messaging services.

IMO

Imo lets you link all of your instant messaging accounts. When you login to a linked account, you will automatically be logged into all the accounts you have linked. With linked accounts, you only have to enter one login to access all of your instant messaging accounts. Currently supported protocols include AIM, Google Talk, ICQ, MSN, MySpace, Skype, and Yahoo Messenger. The service is free and requires no user-registration or sign-up.

Imo places the buddies you star in a group called “Favorites” at the top of your buddylist, so that you can chat with them easily. It also supports voice and video chats and allows you to block any person whom you dont want to chat to. You can also make yourself invisible in the IMs.

What more? It comes with handy keyboard shortcuts to make your work easier. So next time you want to try web based IMs, you should be checking out IMO.im
