If you have not installed the top end version of Windows 7, you might be knowing that there is an option to upgrade from one version of Windows 7 to another. Upgrading from one version of Windows 7 to another is using the Windows Anytime Upgrade tool in Windows 7. You can upgrade from a lower version of Windows 7 to a higher version, for example, you can upgrade from starter to Home Premium or Ultimate, Home Premium to Ultimate etc. You can upgrade a 32 bit Windows 7 to another 32 bit Windows and same is the case with 64 bit. to upgrade, open the Windows Anytime Upgrade tool. Click start menu and type Anytime Upgrade in search and press enter.

Anytime upgrade

Windows Anytime Upgrade provides you two options, one to go online and find out the best version of Windows 7 for you before buying (this is not available in all countries and regions) and secondly to enter the upgrade key you have purchased online.

upgrade key

Once you have purchased the key, enter the key in the second option described above. Once you have entered the upgrade key, you will have access to all the feature of the new version without having to reinstall or install additional updates. Once you have upgraded your version, you cannot return back to previous version.

If you are using the Windows 7 Ultimate edition, then Windows Anytime Upgrade tool will not be available.
