In a study conducted by Royal Pingdom, a site for finding the uptime/downtime of any website, it was found that Windows Update center had 100% uptime. This test was conducted for software update services for three popular operating systems- Windows, Mac OS X and Ubuntu. Apple came second with 99.9% uptime and Ubuntu came third with 98.64% uptime.

Windows Update

Pingdom’s uptime monitoring service performs a test once every five minutes and if downtime was found, it will be confirmed from two different locations and then it was counted for however long it lasted.
