Remove Excel Passwords with Excel Password Remover 2008

Excel password remover 2008 is a FREE Excel add-in that removes/cracks sheet and workbook password protection in Excel. This add-in works fine in Excel 5.0 and above (including Excel 2000, XP and 2003). This program will remove passwords of any length, also passwords containing special characters.

How to unprotect Excel sheets?

1. Run the add-in and it gives you two extra menu-items on the “Tools”-menu.
2. These are; Unprotect workbook and Unprotect sheet.

NB: This program can’t remove file protection, i.e. if you are unable to open the file, this program won’t help you.

  1. I don’t understand…what is the difference between a file and workbook?

  2. Rajesh,
One Excel can have more than one sheets, thats what is meant here. If you cannot open the excel sheet, then this can help, but some excel sheets are protected to prevent editing, this can be removed using this remover. Hope you got the difference.

  3. DOes it work with Excel 2007

  4. @Madhur,
I have not tried it with Excel 2007, the website says only upto Excel 2003, may be we should try it.

  5. Good find nirmal, Now i am going to ask all my friends ti use Office 2007, if it is excluded

  6. ok…so when you say it can crack sheet and workbook protection why is that N.B where you say “This program can’t remove file protection, i.e. if you are unable to open the file, this program won’t help you.”

  7. @Rajesh,
Forget about workbook and sheets, those are confusing, I’ll tell you clearly.
1.If you are not able top open the excel file (its asking password), then this utility is of no use.
    2. If you are able to open the excel file, but no able to edit anything in sheet (because of password protection), then you can remove that using this software.
    I hope you got it.
