Fix Windows Update and Registry Errors using Dial-a-Fix
Many times we might have encountered errors after the Windows Update has been done either manually or automatic. Most of the times, it could be the “Initialization Error” which pops up after you boot up Windows. Although Microsoft provides solutions to these kind of issues, its really difficult to find out how to correct this error searching the troubleshooter page. Here is a software which can fix all sorts of PC problems- Dial-a-Fix.
Dial-a-Fix is a freeware which deals with all types of PC problems including Windows Update issues, missing registry, system restore errors, Internet explorer errors and many more.
Dial-a-fix is an advanced utility for 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows written by DjLizard in Borland Delphi 7 that repairs various Windows problems, such as
- Windows Update errors and problems with Automatic Updates.
- SSL, HTTPS, and Cryptography service (signing/verification) issues.
- COM/ActiveX object errors and missing registry entries and many more.

DAF’s primary aim is to fix problems by setting various things back to their original Microsoft defaults. DAF currently does not interface with or repair any third party programs, so your PC is always safe.
DAF works on all 32-bit versions of Windows: 98, 98SE, Me, 2000, XP, and Server 2003. Dial-a-Fix has more features and fixes when used Windows XP.
NB: Please read the instructions before editing or changing Registry values. Always Keep a back up of Registry.

I’m just paranoid abt stuff like this - it may damage more than it fixes
But I’ll still give it a try and report back.

Sounds like an interesting program. I think the best way to stay away from registry problems is to use software virtualization tools such as Altiris. It works great and never messes up your registry.
