Microsoft Clarifies How Windows 10 will be Rolled Out

Microsoft’s upcoming OS, Windows 10, has been in preview for almost 6 months or so and has been updated with newer features. It is one of the most anticipated OS from Microsoft and will be provided free for all users if upgraded in the first year of release. Windows 10 is slated for official release on July 29th and it will be offered as upgrade for Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 users.

Today, the company has clarified how the update will be rolled out for users. The Redmond company has mentioned that it will be rolled out in phases rather than releasing to all users in one go.

In the first go, company will be providing Windows 10 Build to OEM partners so they can start imaging new devices with Windows 10. This will happen before the official release. After this company will distribute a build of Windows 10 to retailers all over the world, so they can assist their customers with upgrades of newly purchased devices that were originally imaged with Windows 8.1.

Starting July 29th, the official date for release, they will start rolling out Windows 10 to Windows Insiders. So if you are already registered for Insiders program, you will be getting the build on July 29th. From there, they will start notifying reserved systems in waves, slowly scaling up after July 29th. Each day of the roll-out will proceed until it is complete in weeks after release.

In case you have reserved a copy of Windows, you will be notified on when the upgrade is available for your PC.
