Xiaomi has announced the new budget or entry level phone, the Redmi 8A. The Redmi 8A is the successor of the Redmi 7A launched in July this year. The Redmi 8A comes with a host of new features and is a massive upgrade over the Redmi 7A. It packs a notched display and is powered by Snapdragon 439 octa core processor and also has a new design which looks good. The phone is priced Rs 6.499 and here are the 5 best features to look for in the Redmi 8A.

Redmi 8A

1. 5000mAh Battery:

With the Redmi 8A, Xiaomi has upgraded the battery. While the Redmi 7A came with 4000mAh battery, the Redmi 8A packs a massive 5000mAh battery and this should be able to give you great battery life. With moderate usage, you can expect a battery life of almost 2 days with the Redmi 8A.

2. 12MP Sony IMX363 Sensor:

Redmi 8A comes with a 12MP rear camera with Sony IMX363 sensor, while the selfie camera on the front is 8MP. The Sony IMX363 sensor is one of the popular camera sensors available and it has been used on pixel smartphones as well. This is probably the first smartphone to include this sensor in the budget segment.

3. 18W Fast Charging:

This is the first time we are seeing a proper fast charging on a sub 7k priced phone. The Redmi 8A comes with 18W fast charging support and this should be able to give you good battery charging for the 5000mAh battery included in the phone. While there is no fast charger included in the box, you can always use the third party QC 3.0 chargers which are available on Amazon.

4. USB Type C:

Redmi 8A gets USB Type C port for charging and this is the newest port and better than the micro USB we have been seeing on almost all budget phones. This is definitely a welcome move because, most of the the sub 10k priced phones have micro USB port.

5. Price:

The Redmi 8A is priced Rs 6,499 for the 2GB RAM variant and Rs 6,999 for the 3GB RAM variant. Looking at the features being offered, the Redmi 8A looks good value for money device with focus on battery, performance and camera.

When we look at the rear of the phone it reminds me of some new Nokia phones. 5000 mAh battery is very good thing and it really helps users to stay online.
