Vivo has announced their latest selfie-focused smartphone in India, the Vivo V9 and it comes with a dual camera and a 24MP selfie camera. This is the first time Vivo is announcing a smartphone with the dual camera. It has a primary 16MP rear camera with F/2.0 aperture and a secondary 5MP camera for depth sensing.

On the selfie front, it packs a 24MP camera with portrait mode. So let’s check out the best features of the new cameras on Vivo V9.

Vivo V9

1. Excellent Selfie performance:

Vivo V9 comes with a 24MP selfie camera and it offers excellent selfie experience with f/2.0 aperture. We tested the selfie camera in different light conditions and it offers great details and good dynamic range in the selfies. The color reproduction is very good and so are the details. Overall, if you are a person loving selfies, this is definitely a great experience on Vivo V9. Here are some of the selfie samples taken with the device.

2. Bokeh/ Portrait Mode:

Both the rear and front cameras on the Vivo V9 comes with Portrait mode or bokeh mode. While we have seen a lot of phones with dual camera and bokeh modes, Vivo V9 stands out with an excellent algorithm for the portrait mode and the edge detection is almost perfect providing the best experience. You can get great photos with the background blurred using this mode. It is available for both rear and front cameras.

For the Portrait mode for the rear camera, you edit the aperture values (f/0.95 to F/16) and increase or decrease the image blur. Here are some bokeh shots using the Vivo V9.

3. 4K recording for front and rear camera:

Vivo V9 comes with support for 4K recording, not just for the rear camera, but also for the front camera as well. Once you switch to the video recording mode, you can toggle from 1080p (Full HD) to 4K from the interface.

4. AR Stickers:

Vivo’s camera app also supports AR stickers. The Augmented Reality stickers are available for both rear and front cameras. There are a variety of options to choose from when you enable this mode from the interface. AR stickers are a fun to use from the camera interface.

5. Group Selfie:

Vivo V9 also features Group Selfie mode, so if you want to take a selfie of a larger crowd, then the group selfie is the best option and it works seamlessly and takes really good group selfies.

Overall, if you are looking for a good camera smartphone loaded with features including excellent selfie experience, then the Vivo V9 is a great choice.
