Nokia is officially back to making smartphones and they have announced three new devices at the MWC 2017. One of most awaited tech news has been rumors surrounding the Nokia phones. The company has launched three new mid-range phones, the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. While Nokia 6 was officially announced in China a few weeks back, now it will be available globally albeit some changes. While these three Nokia smartphones do not have any high-end hardware, there are a lot of things to look for in the new devices. In this article, we will have a look at 5 important aspects to look for in the new Nokia phones.

Nokia smartphones

1. Design and Build:

Nokia smartphones have been known for great design and build and this was evident even in older feature phones and also Windows Phones released by the company. Even with the new devices, the company is looking for premium looking smartphones in the mid-range segment. The Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 sports an aluminum unibody construction while Nokia 3 has aluminum chassis with polycarbonate rear panel. In terms of looks, all the three smartphones look good. Also, all the three phones come in a variety of color options (which are seldom found in mid-range phones).

So if you are a person for whom looks matter, definitely the new Nokia phones won’t disappoint.

2. Software:

When Nokia announced the Chinese variant of Nokia 6, it had a custom UI. But with the global devices, Nokia is providing stock or pure Android experience without any bloatware. If you look at budget segment most of the phones have custom UI. In a market like India, where most of the budget phones are dominated by Chinese players, it is difficult to get a stock like experience. So, if stock UI is your priority, then the new Nokia smartphones won’t disappoint.

3. Cameras:

Although Nokia smartphones have not been in production for a long time now, almost all of us remember the 41MP Nokia PureView camera smartphone which was one of the best cameras back then. The new Nokia smartphones do not come with any fancy specifications in the camera department, but we still think Nokia will do a good job with the cameras. The Nokia 6 comes with 16MP, Nokia 5 comes with 13MP and Nokia 3 comes with an 8MP camera. All the 3 phones have a front facing camera with auto focus. The low light experience of these phones is something to look for.

4. Display:

The new Nokia smartphones come with laminated IPS LCD panels with 2.5D curved Gorilla glass protection and with good sunlight readability. While the Nokia 6 comes with a Full HD display, the Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 have HD panels.

5. Security and Future updates:

With the new Nokia smartphones, the company is promising to provide monthly security updates and also timely updates to the latest version of Android when Google releases them. This is something which is not offered by most of the budget smartphones and if Nokia can really provide it, this would make it superior to the software side.
