Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus FAQs, Pros and Cons

Lenovo had announced the Vibe K5 Plus at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona and in few weeks time they announced the device in India. After the huge success of their recent budget phones, Lenovo plans to tap the sub 10k price point with the new Vibe K5 Plus.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes with 5 inch Full HD (1920 X 1080p) display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.

1. What is the display Resolution: The phone has Full HD display which means the resolution is 1920 X 1080p and it has IPS LCD Panel.

2. Does it have any protection on the display: No, Lenovo isn’t offering any protection on the display

3. Which all sensors are included: The phone has Accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.

4. What is the processor and GPU on the phone: Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus has Snapdragon 616 Octa core 1.2 with 1.5GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.

5. What is the internal storage available: The phone has 16GB internal storage and around 10.5GB is available to the user in first boot.

6. Is there Full HD video recording and playback: Yes, the phone supports Full HD video recording.

7. Does it have a dual SIM card and Micro SD card: Yes, the phone comes with dual SIM card. It has micro SD card for expanding the memory

8. What is the Android version: The phone has Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI

9. Does it have LED notification: Yes

10. Does it come with USB OTG support: Yes

11. How is the gaming performance: The gaming performance was quite good for a budget phone. 

12. Does the phone get heated: Heating is nominal on the device even with heavy games

13. What all accessories are included in the phone: It comes with USB cable, Charger and screen guard

14. What is the battery capacity? The phone comes with 2750mAh battery

15. What are the colors available: The phone comes in Black, White and Gold colors.

Pros:

1. Good Display: Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is one of the few phones offering Full HD display below Rs 10,000 and the display quality is quite good. The colors are vivid and punchy.

2. Decent Cameras: While the phone comes with 13MP rear camera, the camera quality is quite decent for a budget smartphone and the images have come good in daylight. The camera quality isn’t the best available in this price segment.

3. Metallic Build: There aren’t too many phones offering metallic build in this price segment and the build quality is quite good on the device.

4. Removable Battery: Most of the devices now come in unbody design without removable battery. But K5 Plus comes with battery that is removable.

5. Snapdragon 616: While there were lot of heating issues with Snapdragon 615 chipset, the 616 is quite good in terms of performance and there aren’t any heating issues.

6. Price: Not too many phones are offered in this price with a full HD display.

7. Dolby Atmos: The Phone comes with Dolby Atmos and also support for VR

 

Cons:

1 No Fingerprint Scanner : While the latest trend in smartphones is the fingerprint scanner, Lenovo has not included this is K5 Note.

2. Older version of Android: Even though it has been 5 months since the release of Android 6.0, the phone still comes with Android Lollipop.

3. Vibe UI: The Vibe UI on K5 Plus isn’t as feature rich as the one found on K4 Note. There are lots of features missing in the Vibe UI.

4. Battery Life: Although the phone has 2750mAh battery, the performance is not great.
