At the IFA 2015, Lenovo had announced two new Vibe branded smartphones with focus on high capacity batteries. The Vibe P1m is the budget device and was announced couple of weeks back in India. The phone comes with 5.0inch HD display and is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P 1.0GHz Quad-Core with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The phone comes with 4000mAh battery which is one of the highlights of the device.

Here is the unboxing and hands-on with the phone.

Design wise, the Lenovo Vibe P1m has a different look and feel when compared to other budget phones from the company. Lenovo is offering a dedicated key to enable the power saving mode and this is placed on the left side of the device. The rear panel has a matte finish with the Vibe branding, Lenovo logo and the camera unit along with the flash. The camera unit has brushed metal finish and it projects out slightly from the rear panel. The finishing on the rear panel is pretty good for a budget phone. The sides of the device has a chrome finishing on plastic. The power and volume keys are on the right side. The top houses the 3.5 mm audio port and micro USB charging slot. The speaker is located at the bottom.

The front panel has 5 inch HD display front camera and the three capacitive buttons. The rear panel is removable, but the 4000mAh battery is fixed. On the whole, the Vibe P1m isn’t a compact device and feels a bit thick and bulky for a 5 inch phone. But the overall built quality looks quite nice for a budget phone.

The phone comes with a 5 inch HD (720p) IPS display and the viewing angles are pretty good. The colors also look quite nice, but the touch response was not great to our liking. It was a bit sticky and not smooth.

The phone is powered by 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P 1.0GHz Quad-Core with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. There is 9.8GB available in the first boot. In the initial testing, we found the device to be quite smooth and no lags. The phone comes with 4000mAh battery which supports quick charging. There is an 8MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash, 5MP secondary front camera. The phone has Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. We will have detailed review coming up soon, so stay tuned.

The device is priced Rs 7999 and available exclusively on Flipkart. We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.
