Micromax announced the successor of the Canvas Juice 2, the Canvas Juice 3 with a massive 4000mAh battery. It comes with a 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD IPS display sporting Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek (6580) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. There is also 8GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card. The Canvas Juice 3 smartphone is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) device which runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

It sports an 8MP rear autofocus camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 2MP front-facing camera. Here is the unboxing and first impressions of the device.

Design wise, Canvas Juice 3 has similarities with the Fire series with a metallic finish on the rear panel. The device has curved edges towards the rear side. The real panel is sturdy and made of good quality plastic and feels sold. The matte finish looks good on the real panel and the 8MP camera, LED flash, logo and speaker is well integrated. The power and volume keys have been given a black finish.

The 3.5 mm audio jack is on the top while the micro USB charging slot is at the bottom. The front panel has 2MP front camera, 5 inch HD (1280 X 720p) display, three on screen buttons and usual set of sensors. Overall, it is a fairly good looking device in this price point.

The phone comes with a 5 inch HD display (1280 X 720P) and protected by Corning Gorilla glass 3. The display looks fairly good and the touch response is also decent. The colors are also good on the display, we will have more in our detailed review.

The device is powered by Mediatek MT6580 Quad core processor clocked at 1.3Ghz with 2GB RAM and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. The performance in the first usage was very good and no lag was noticed. The phone has 8GB storage and is expandable via micro SD card. There is close to 3.7GB of storage available in the first boot which is disappointing as the device comes loaded with too many bloatwares from the company. You can also install SD card and directly install apps on the SD card.

The phone has 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a front facing camera. The camera interface looks like previous Micromax devices in the sub 10k price point and the camera samples looked decent. We will have the detailed camera review soon, so stay tuned. The phone also ships with 4000mAh battery and this is the highlight of the Juice series. This should be good enough for 2 days of usage. It also comes with dual SIM card and 3G support.

The device is priced Rs 8999 and available in both online and offline. We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.

Juice 3 differs from Juice 2 in only two features, i.e. Battery and lollipop’s latest version. Apart from that, everything is same. So, there is possibility of no-switching.
