Few days back Gionee had announced the new devices under the F series, the F103. The F series is a new series for fashion and lifestyle and the focus is on design and build quality. This phone is very high on style quotient and brings a smooth user experience. F103 by Gionee comes with a rich feel due to the mirror glass finish back.

Gionee F103 comes with a 5 inch HD display (1280 X 720p) with Dragontrail and is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad Core Mediatek chipset with 2GB RAM. The also features 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. There is also 16GB internal storage and it runs on Android 5.0 with Amigo UI 3.0. Here is the unboxing of the device and also first impressions.

Design wise, the Gionee F103 does stand out with a slim and sleek design. There is a chrome finish on the sides of the phone giving a premium feel. The power and volume keys are on right side and provide great feedback. The 3.5mm audio jack is on the top while the micro USB charging slot along with microphone is located at the bottom panel.

The rear panel houses the 8MP camera with LED flash. The camera and flash units have been given a chrome finish around it. The rear panel has a mirror glass finish and it is made of plastic. The front panel has small bezels and it houses the 5 inch HD display, front camera and also the three capacitive touch buttons. Overall, the design and build quality looks pretty good.

The phone has a 5 inch HD (1280 X 720p) IPS LCD display and similar to other Gionee’s mid range phones, the display is pretty sharp and vibrant and has good colors. There is also Dragontrail protection for the display. The touch response is pretty smooth. The phone comes with dual SIM card and has 4G LTE support. The phone also comes with 16GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card. The storage available in the first boot is around 10GB.

In the initial usage, the performance was good and there was no lag and the Amigo UI is more polished that previous versions. It is powered by the 1.3Ghz Quad Core Mediatek chipset with 2GB of RAM. The Amigo UI 3.0 is on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. The 8MP camera also has good amount of options and modes similar to the Elife S7. There is also 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The battery capacity is at 2400mAh which we feel is decent capacity for a 5 inch device. We will have the detailed camera review of the phone, so stay tuned!

The device is priced Rs 9999 and available in most of the retail stores. We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.
