Sony Launches Xperia Z5, Compact and Premium (with 4k Display) at IFA 2015

Sony has officially announced its new range of Xperia phones at the IFA 2015 and it includes Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact and the Xperia Z5 Premium, the world’s first 4k display smartphone. The Xperia Z5 is the successor to the Xperia Z4 released last year.

The Xperia Z5 comes with a 5.2inch Full HD Triluminos Display while the compact has a 4.6inch HD display. Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, featuring octa-core CPUs, 64 bit capabilities and ultra-fast 4G LTE speeds.

Xperia Z5 compact

The Xperia Z5 features 3GB RAM while the Compact comes with 2GB of RAM. On the imaging front, the Xperia Z5 features Sony’s brand new large 1/2.3 Exmor RS for mobile 23MP sensor and F2.0 G Lens and 5MP front-facing camera with Exmor R sensor, 25mm wide-angle lens. The Xperia Z5 and Compact runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the custom UI from Sony.

01. Xperia_Z5_Colour_Range

Both the devices have an Ingress Protection rating of IP65 and IP68, this means you can use the device under water for 1.5m and a maximum time of 30 minutes provided all the ports are closed. Z5 and Z5 Compact will feature 4G LTE support.

02. Xperia_Z5_Compact_Colour_Range

While the Xperia Z5 comes with 2900mAh battery, the Z5 Compact has 2700mAh battery and both comes with STAMINA mode for extra battery life. The device also comes with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.

The highlight of the presser from Sony is the new Xperia Z5 Premium which comes with UHD display (3840 x 2160)or a 4k display with a whopping 801ppi. This is the first 4k phone in the world. The display has four times the resolution of Full HD panel. It also comes with Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. There is also a bigger 3,430mAh battery considering that the display is 4k resolution.

Z5Premium

Availability:

Sony Xperia Z5 comes in White, Graphite Black, Gold and Green colors while the Compact comes in White, Graphite Black, Yellow and Coral colors. Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact will launch globally from October 2015, and Xperia Z5 Premium from November 2015 – Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Premium will be available in both Single SIM and Dual SIM variants.
