Motorola Announces 3rd Generation Moto G with 5 inch HD display, Snapdragon 410 and 13MP Camera

Back in 2013, Motorola announced the first generation Moto G which went on to become a huge success in India and many countries were it was available. The second generation Moto G went official in September last year with upgraded specs. Now the company has launched the 3rd generation Moto G or Moto G3 with upgraded specs.

The Moto G 3rd generation comes with the same 5 inch HD (1280 X720p) display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad core processor clocked at 1.4Ghz. This is an upgrade from the Snapdragon 400 available on Moto G2.

The phone also runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and has 1GB RAM/ 2GB and 8GB/16GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card. The phone comes with 13MP rear camera with color tone LED flash and a front 5MP camera for selfies. Motorola has improved the camera experience on the Moto G3 compared to the predecessor.

The design of the third generation Moto G looks much better with textured finish on the rear panel and an integrated camera, flash and Moto logo. Moto G 3rd Gen also comes with added features like Moto display, Quick capture and Chop twice options. Moto display shows the notifications and time on the display even when it turned off. Chop twice option brings in the flash when you shake the device twice quickly.

The phone also comes with IPX7 water certification. It can be used in water for 3 feet and upto 30 minutes.

The phone comes with dual SIM card support along with 4G LTE in India and it packs a 2470mAh battery. The phone comes in white and black colors along with swappable shells.

Moto G (3rd generation) is priced Rs 11999 ($187) for the 8GB variant and 12999 ($203) for the 16GB variant and will be exclusive to Flipkart similar to previous generations. The device will go on sale from midnight tonite.
