Double tap to wake is one of the most important and useful feature on most of the smartphones today and this was first introduced by Nokia on their Lumia phones. While Xiaomi’s MIUI6 is one of the finest and feature rich ROMs on Android, the double tap to wake feature was missing on this ROM. But now, the developers are adding this feature to MIUI with an update.
This also has been one of the most sought after features on MIUI and it is finally available.
As of now it is in beta and testing phase and will be rolled out to global ROMs soon. This is added under the display settings, where you have an option to enable Double Tap screen to wake.

Personally, we have been using MIUI for past 8 months or so and would say this is one of the most useful features to come to this ROM.
