After the success of Lenovo A6000, the company announced yet another device in the A series, the A7000 at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. The device was soon announced in India as well and comes with 5.5 inch HD (1280 X720p) display and is powered by a 64 bit MediaTek MT6752m TruOcta Core processor clocked at 1.5Ghz. There is also 2GB RAM available on the phone. The device also comes with 8GB internal storage which is expandable via microSD card. This is also the first smartphone to feature Dolby Atmos for superior sound.

We already covered our hands on with the device at the launch and found the device to be pretty good for the pricing. Today, we unbox the device and here is the first impressions of A7000.

Design wise, the device looks very similar to the smaller A6000 (Review). The A7000 is pretty slim compared to the competition and looks sleek as well. The build quality is really good with a matte finish rear panel. The device feels good in hands. The power and volume keys have chrome finish and are located on the right side. The 3.5mm audio jack is on the top while the micro USB charging slot is at the bottom.

The rear panel has the 8MP with dual LED flash, Lenovo logo and the speaker. Although the phone comes with Dolby Atmos, the speakers do not offer them and if you want to experience it you need to use the earphones. The front panel has the 5.5 inch HD display, front camera and the three capacitive buttons at the bottom. The buttons are sadly not backlit.

The display on the device looks pretty good with vibrant colors and the touch response was also pretty decent and better than A6000. The viewing angles were also pretty decent, but sadly there is no Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the display. The phone comes with dual SIM card and has 4G LTE support. The phone also comes with 8GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card. The storage available in the first boot is around 3.58GB which is kind of low considering most of the device have more than 4GB storage available.

The phone is powered by TruOcta core processor from Mediatek which is clocked at 1.5Ghz and there is 2GB RAM. The performance was very good on the device and did not have any lags in the first use. There is also 2900mAh battery included in the device which is removable and should be adequate for usage.

The device is priced Rs 8999 and available on Flipkart. We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.
