Yu Yureka Warranty and Service

Micromax’s new brand, the Yu was announced in partnership with Cyanogen back in December 2014 and their first device, the Yu Yureka went on sale in the second week of Jan 2015. The device has great specs for a price of Rs 8999 and it is sold exclusive on Amazon and you need to register to buy the device.

The phone has 5.5 inch HD display, Octa Core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage along with a 13MP rear camera and Android 4.4 KitKat. Although Yu is a subsidiary of Micromax, it is a company under different name (Yu Televentures) and Yu branded phones cannot be serviced at the Micromax service center.

Based on the request from our readers, here are the details on the Yureka Warranty and servicing.

Warranty Details of Yureka:

YU devices come with extensive warranty for 12 months warranty on the handset and 6 months warranty on out of box accessories (battery, charging adapter, USB data cable & in-ear headset). The warranty starts from the date of purchase (Amazon invoice will be required as a proof of purchase).

The warranty will be void only in 3 scenarios as mentioned below:

  1. Any kind of water damage.
  2. Any kind of accidental damage.
  3. Any kind of damage arising through wear and tear or rough usage of the product.

Service Centers in India:

Generally for all devices, the mode of service and repairs in India is to take to the nearest center available in your city. But Yu has a different approach here, instead of investing in service centres, the company has different method where in they will provide door step service to our customers in India. So in case you have issues with the device, you can either call or email the support.

Method of Service:

  1. For any issues with the handset or the accessory, customer need to contact YU support team.
  2. YU Support team will do necessary troubleshooting on the handset/accessory to confirm the issue.
  3. Once YU Support team confirms the issue, they will raise a ticket to authorize the replacement of the handset/accessory.
  4. The doorstep replacement of the handset/accessory service is currently available in 115 cities in India.
  5. For cities, where the doorstep service is not available. Customers can send the device directly to our central service centre and we will reimburse the courier amount to them.
  6. The warranty of the replaced handset/accessory will continue to be from date of purchase of the original handset/accessory.

There are many cities/ States where there is no pick facility available and for these people, they will have to courier the phone to Delhi for any repairs. Remember, the customer will NOT have to bear the cost of sending the device as it is covered under warranty. So in case you are sending the device, make sure you insure it with the courier service so that there wont be any issues in transit.

      1.Just Dial *#*#7769#*#* (Proximity sensor calibrate)
      2.You will see 2 options Start and Exit
      3.Click on Start.
      4.Move your finger over proximity sensor for 3-4 times and try to change the value on screen.
      5.If values are changing after 3-4 tries then your problem is solved.

      STILL not solved then report the problem and get the engineer to fix it. brand new phone should not have such problem.

    My name is priya. I bought this phone on 26 feb 2015 through Amazon.in….Now my phone is not working properly and i can’t switch on my phone…..whenever i tried to call yu customer care number i got reply from other side this is wrong number and No service center is available for this phone in Chennai…and i think Not in india….Then i called to micromax customer care but they are also not giving good response for customer call….They told to me Send one e-mail from your email to “[email protected]”. After sending the email i got some ticket number from yureka side…Recently i got that ticket number is “YU50525″and i got this ticket number that person name is “hari” And he is employe in micromax helpdesk. he told me once u sent ur email then i get back to u….till now i m not getting any call from that person….After that they are not giving reply for that e-mail and call also…..this is the worst phone don’t buy MICROMAX YUREKA….i really sufferd badly…they are not giving any respone for customer calls and query….”DON’T BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM MICROMAX COMPANY” other wise u will suffer badly…..this is my experience from micromax company…

      I also bought Yureka on March 17th 2015. I got apps slow issue problem. I restored all settings yesterday. It was seemed to running good. Even though, I talked to Amazon Customer care to return the product. They replied to wait two days to take it back. Still I am in whether to return or not. Because most of my friends suggested not to return.

      I am also not getting favourable comments. Very slow response. After you send mail and wait for 4 to 5 daysvyou may get a reply that may not be relaating to your issue.
      this is not fair.
      1. Proximity sensor issue
      2. Battery OK if no internet used.
      3. Default memory issue.
      4. images stored in phone memory but can not be transfered to SD card.
      5 3g video call not possible.
      6. YU telling that all issue shall be solved in lollipop upgradation. But that has also not taken place.

      i have purchases yureka on 19 may 2015 but after on day i updated it to loolipop.Now i facing many issues with it. Customer care number shows wrong number.now u tell what to do now. My phone gets back screen after calling and kept at ideal state.
      Its better i have purchased nokia simple phone which don’t shows any such issues.
      Worst phone i have ever seen

      same thing happened with me then I have written many reminders to their [email protected] their ceo [email protected] their directors sumit, then their executive told me replacement procerdure and providing new replacement device with exceed of 1 year warrenty. you also done these thing they are the fraud one company. worst servcie they are providing they mentioned on the web door to door step facility to collect provided and provide replacement but they don’t do this services.

    I have purchased Yureka mobile from Amazon on 6th March 2015. Till that date I am facing many problems listed as below.

    1. Screen turning off / black once I press dial button. Unable to disconnect call there after.
    2. Unable to lock the phone with pass code / pattern or any other way. Even if I lock it, it is not asking for code to unlock.
    3. Unable to switch off the phone some times.
    4. Poor battery backup. Battery is not sustaining for 12 hours.
    5. While charging, battery percentage is strcuked at 99%.
    5. Hanging issue while exploring files in phone.

    I tried to mail “[email protected]” but mail getting delivery failure error message.
    Please some one help me to resolve.

    The IR sensor is not at all functional,hence because of that am not able to see the display to disconnect the calls.

    I am not able to see the display when there is incoming/outgoing cAlls in the mobile,really horrible.
    I was facing all the problems from the next day after lollypop upgradation.
    And the pathetic of all is- on the same day the mobile is not responsive and not at all functional. looking like my mobile is dead. really helpless. pls help me

    I am afraid to say that my phone charger of yureka has some issue when I put my phone in charging instead of getting charge it gets discharge means theoretically if I have 95% battery then it should be 100% after some time instead it gets discharge means after some time if I check my battery surprisingly it will be found 90% and data cable of phone also not working data cable issue has been started from the starting means when I had purchased phone that is from 5th February 2015 and this discharge issue started from couple of days today please help me out had big trust on micromax had purchased this phone against my family

      And I have purchased Yureka in the month of april 2015 and its in warranty period.

      The problem is its starts heating very much and very badly while playing games and while charging and while using normally also.

    My mobile got up-graded to lollipop, after up-gradation i am facing lots of problems in my mobile phone.
    Till date I am facing many problems is mansion below –

    The IR sensor is not at all functional, messaging is not open, working and showing UNFORTUNATELY, MESSAGING HAS STOPPED and after seeing report he showing file was crashed. Also my mobile phone is heating from both side and also battery charging time is very long (4 to 5 hours charging time), System is running very slow and not running properly. I am shocked for seeing that.

    I am facing all the problems from the next day after updating lollipop android and your customer care number is not response so please resolve my problem as soon as possible… so please refund my money or change my mobile phone.     I m from bokaro .My yureka is one month old . on upgrading lollipop i m facing many problems bcz of this phone. The battery drains very fast without working on phone.The IR sensor is not at all functional, messaging is not open, calling is not properly working and my phone hangs 12-18 times per day. Mobile network searching many times and internet is not running proprly on my phone bcz data connection is not constant . My phone does not used upor connect 3g and4g network this is a huge problem for me .my battery give backup upto 3-4.30 hrs.     This is mohsin Mansuri from mumbai.

    And I have purchased Yureka in the month of april 2015 and its in warranty period.

    The problem is its starts heating very much and very badly while playing games and while charging and while using normally also.

    Please let me know what is the solution for this, what i have to do as yureka does not have service centers in mumbai, what is the solution let me know.

    I bought Yureka mobile phone in end of March but now it is not charging up. On connecting charger it shows that it is charging but it doesn’t charge the battery. Called up customer support and after trying different combination (charger and battery from another yureka mobile) it is concluded that battery and charger is Ok but problem with phone.

    Following up with customer support almost daily but not getting any solution. I sent email to [email protected] also but no response. Yureka customer support is the worst I have ever dealt with.

    I have purchase yu yureka phone in april 2015 and within 4 months ,mobile is very heat up and battery down within 1 hours without any use. I have called customer care so many times but didn’t get any satisfactory result. I have done factory reset, use the phone in safe mode but still the same problem i m facing.
    I think its not that type of service provided by you which i have thought at the time of purchasing yu yureka. Its not the matter of only service but brand image of yu yureka is also degrading.
    If u can help, then do the needful. Actually i m too much frustrated.

    Dated 11 sep 2015
    The phone went dead within 4 months without any reason.
    Called customer support.
    Uploaded video as advised by them
    Called customer support confirmed that the receipt of video
    Calling them since last 11 days daily but only reply from them is sorry we are concerned we will call u back
    Any body can help in this matter!!!!!!
    After their call they will send a format which I have to fill and send them and again call to confirm receipt of format. Then they will send me the transreciver withing 10 WORKING DAYS.
    Worst customer support I have faced so far
    So advised don’t buy the phone otherwise you may have to go through the problem which I am going on now presently
