Micromax Announces YUREKA with Cyanogen OS and 4G LTE

Micromax has announced its first Yu branded smartphone running the Cyanogen OS. Micromax had earlier signed an exclusive agreement with Cyanogen Inc for selling devices with the OS in India. The phone is called YUREKA and comes with a 5.5 inch HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 615 Octa Core processor with 2GB RAM. This is also a 64bit processor from Snapdragon.

The device is the first 4G LTE enabled phone from Micromax and comes with dual SIM card support. There is also 13MP rear camera with LED Flash and 1080p recording along with a 5MP front-facing camera with 71-degree wide viewing angle for selfies. The 5.5 inch HD display also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass3 protection.

The phone offers 16GB internal storage which can be expanded via micro SD card to 32GB.

The device is priced Rs 8999 and we feel this is a great pricing from the company especially when it will compete with ASUS Zenfone 5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note in the same price category. The Micromax YUREKA comes in Moonstone color and will be available exclusively on Amazon.in. The registrations will start on December 19th 2PM and will go on sale in the second week of January 2015. The device will be available only from Amazon.
