Lenovo Vibe X2 Unboxing and First Impressions

At the IFA 2014 in Berlin, Lenovo announced the Vibe X2,  the company’s latest smartphone in the X series. The device comes with 5-inch 1080p display, powered by a 2 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6595 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Vibe UI 2.0. The phone has impressive specs and also features a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel wide-angle front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The device comes in dual SIM variant in Asia Pacific region and Single SIM variant in other regions.

The phone also offers 2GB RAM and 32GB on board storage. The speciality of the device is the layered design with three colors and this is the first smartphone with a layered design. The phone was announced in India couple of weeks back and is exclusive to Flipkart. The phone is priced at Rs 19999 (around $330) which is impressive for a device with the high end specs.

The phone comes with a 5 inch Full HD display and has a pixel density of 441 and the display looks really vibrant and sharp. Above the display is the 5MP front camera and the set of sensors. Below the display there is the three capacitive touch buttons which offer haptic feedback and are backlit. The

The phone has the layered design and we have the gold variant of Lenovo Vibe X2 and it looks really great in terms of design. This is probably the first smartphone with a layered design. The phone has excellent build quality and feels light and easy to use. The phone has SIM tray on the left side and the power and volume buttons are on the right side.

The 3.5mm audio jack is on the top and the micro USB charging port is located at the bottom. Overall, in the build quality and fit and finish, Vibe X2 looks solid.

Vibe X2 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and has custom UI from Lenovo which adds lot of added features to the device. This smartphone boasts of a 13 mega pixel primary camera and 5 mega pixel secondary which should be good enough for your photography needs. We will have detailed review on the camera soon.

The phone runs on MediaTek 6595m 2.0 GHz processor with 2GB of RAM offering True8Core performance. It also supports 4G LTE in India.

The phone comes with 32GB on board storage and comes with dual SIM card support (micro and nano SIM). There is no micro SD expansion available, but 25 GB available to the user and this should be good enough for most users. The rear panel is non-removable and also houses the 2300mAh battery.

Overall, the Vibe X2 looks like a solid phone with excellent build quality and amazing specs at a lower price point. The device is priced Rs 19999 and available exclusively on Flipkart.
