Few months back the budget or the entry level segment had phones which were running either dated OS or had hardware which was not impressive. But gone are those days where the low end Android segment had only phones which hangs a lot. Back in May, Moto E ‘s launch had triggered the boom in the entry level Android phone segment which had great specs, features and more importantly the latest OS. All mobile vendors have introduced their entry level Android phone to met the competition in the market.

The budget segment is highly competitive segment and this is where most of the sales in India happen. Not long ago we had only Lumias which were cost effective, but now with the arrival of Xiaomi Redmi 1S, the competition has once again spiced up. In this post we list out the best Android phones you can buy with a budget of Rs 7000 in India.

Moto E comes with a 4.3 inch qHD screen sharp and scratch resistant display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Dual-Core 1.2 GHz processor with 1GB RAM.The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat which is probably one of the best feature of this low cost Android phone.The device features a Lithium-ion 1980mAh battery and on the imaging front it has 5MP camera with no flash.

ASUS Zenfone 4 (A400CG)

ASUS Zenfone 4 comes with a 4 inch IPS display which has a resolution of 800X480 pixels (WVGA) and is powered by a 1.2Ghz Dual core Intel Atom processor with 1GB of RAM. The device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and has Zen UI on top of it. The company has already promised KitKat update for the device.The device comes with an auto focus 5MP camera but there is no flash included. There is also a front facing camera. The device is priced at Rs 5899.

ASUS Zenfone 4 (A450CG)

The Zenfone 4 (A450CG) is the 4.5 inch variant which comes with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box while rest of the Zenfone run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Zen UI (now upgradable to KitKat). The 4.5 inch variant is powered by the same dual core Intel Atom processor found on the 4 inch variant. It also comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. ASUS has upgraded the camera on this device to 8MP with LED flash and there is also a front facing camera. The Zenfone 4 (A450CG) variant is priced Rs 6999.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S

The Redmi 1S was the first device from Xiaomi in the budget category and it comes with a 4.7 inch HD display (1280 X 720) and is powered by Snapdragon Quad Core 400 processor with 1GB of RAM. The device also comes with 8GB internal storage and has microSD card support for expanding the storage. Redmi 1S also features a 8MP camera with LED flash and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is powered by 2050mAh battery and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI V5 on top of it. Redmi 1S is priced at Rs 5999.

But now the company has gone aggressive and launched the new budget phone, the Honor Holly with impressive specs. The device sports a 5 inch HD display and comes with 1.3GHz Quad Core MediaTek processor with 1GB RAM. The phone also comes with 16GB internal storage and is also expandable via microSD card. The device is priced at Rs 6999.

Micromax Canvas A1 the first Android 1 phone from Micromax comes with a 4.5 inch display with a FWVGA resolution (480 X 854pixels) and is powered by a 1.3Ghz Quad core Mediatek processor with 1GB of RAM.The phone also comes with 4GB internal storage and is expandable via micro SD card. There is also 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera. The phone runs Android KitKat 4.4. The device is priced at Rs 6499.

      Android one from Micromax is present in the list. The Android one isnt any good other than the software update. The design, display nor the camera on these Android One phones are great. That is the reason we have included only one Android One phone.
