Statuzer is a Multi Account Twitter Client

We have covered lots of Twitter clients including Twitter gadget for Windows 7. Statuzer is another new Twitter Client based on Adobe Air and has some great feature like multi account, multi columns, thumbnail previews etc. With Statuzer, you can add multiple accounts of not only Twitter, but also other social networks like identi.ca, StatusNet and Hellotipi. Statuzer also supports different themes and is currently in beta.

This application has the ability to show thumbnails for images and videos and it supports thumbs for Twitpic, yfrog, Flickr, YouTube and Vimeo. You can use your webcam to take a snapshot and sent it to Twitpic with your status.

Tweetz is a Windows 7 Twitter Gadget

We have covered various Twitter clients for Windows, now here is another twitter client which is in fact a Windows 7 sidebar gadget. Although Tweetz is a sidebar gadget, it provides you with all the functionality of Twitter like retweet, reply, search etc. It also support for mentions, direct messages and has a built in URL shortener which make it breeze to use. It even does reverse looks up on links so you’ll know where they go before click on them.

To update your status, click anywhere in title area of the gadget near the top. Compose your message including any links. To shorten links, click the “Shorten” button and Tweetz will scan the message for links and shorten them in place. You can also add a sound notification when a new tweet arrives.

Each tweet available in the gadget has an option for replying, retweeting and also adding to favorites. Apart from this, you can also have a compact version of the gadget on the sidebar in case you feel the overall size is big (which is again customizable). Overall we were impressed by this twitter client and if you are already using sidebar gadgets, this is an useful add.

Saezuri is Adobe Air Based Twitter Client

We have seen quite a few Twitter clients and most of them are Adobe Air based application and Saezuri is no difference. Saezuri is another Twitter client based on Air platform and has some good feature and a decent interface. It uses the OAuth method, so you do not have to provide the username and password of Twitter account. It also has in build support from URL shortening and also adding images to Twitpic directly from the interface.

The setting page has few themes to customize the look of the application. You can set the update time for Twitter updates from the settings menu. There is provision to reply and retweet a message. Apart from this, it also has conversation type view where in you can see replies from a particular user in conversation style.

TweetPocket is a New Desktop Twitter Client

We have seen many desktop Twitter clients for Windows and most of these are based on Adobe Air. Here is another feature rich Twitter client with good UI based on Adobe Air. TweetPocket is a free Twitter client for your desktop gives you the power of Twitter on your desktop without cluttering your up your screen and using precious desktop space. What makes TweetPocket unique is the UI, it looks very much similar to the iPhone interface.

You can add multiple profiles to this application and select which account it has to display the timeline. It also includes a build in Twitter search for any keywords or trending topics. Sending replies, retweeting messages and viewing profiles is also available.

How to Revoke Access to Applications using your Twitter Account

There are thousands of applications both web based and desktop based, for Twitter. We can see new applications being created daily based on Twitter. Most of these applications need authorization to access your Twitter account. With these many applications, it is difficult to say which one is legitimate and which are fake ones. We have already seen some applications used to spam Twitter accounts. In case you have authorized to use your Twitter account for any of these applications, you can always revoke access to these applications.

1. To Revoke access login to your Twitter account, go to settings.

2. In the settings page, select the connections tab.

3. Here you can see the lists of all applications currently using your profile. Below each application, you can see a link called Revoke Access. Click on it to revoke access to your Twitter account.

Once you have revoked access to applications, it is better to change your password of Twitter account.

MahTweets- WPF based Twitter Client

We have seen many Twitter Clients based on Adobe Air platform like Destroy Twitter, Twhirl and many more. These application are quite good in features, but many times these take up lots of system memory and often become slow to respond. MahTweets is another free Twitter Client written on the Managed Extensibility Framework to create a plugin based social networking client with support for Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YFrog, Twitpic and Twitgoo.

The interface looks very good and Tweets are easy to read and also to update. You can change the options using the Settings menu. MahTweets makes use of several components like FlickrNet, FacebookToolkit, LinqToTwitter and many more.

Features of MahTweets;

MahTweets can be called a social networking client as it supports Twitter, Facebook, flickr, twitpic, twitgoo, yfrog etc.
MahTweets lets you view pictures from Twitpic, Flickr or absolute urls inside the client.
MahTweets takes the hassle of 140 chars limit by automatically splitting your tweets, and adds indicators as to how many tweets it will span.
Auto expand shortened URLs and it currently supports is.gd, tr.im, bit.ly, tinyurl.com, ff.im, twurl.nl
With MahTweets, you can add a filter for hash tags which you dont want to see in your timeline.
MahTweets allows you to upload pictures to Flickr, Yfrog, Twitpic or Twitgoo.

Tweet Me! Makes it Easier to Tweet

There are tons of applications being developed based on Twitter API making it easy for you to send out your status updates to Twitter. Tweet Me! is a simple tool to quickly send in your status updates to Twitter. Unlike normal twitter applications, this tool can be used only for updating your status as it does not have an interface to read the updates or replies or direct messages from your friends and public timeline. With Tweet Me! You’ll no longer have to use a complex application for just sending your daily or hourly tweets.

Once you login to the application, it runs from the system tray and you can quickly sent updates by using the hot key Ctrl+Q. This brings up the status update window, where you can type in the status and press enter. Pressing the ESC key puts the application back to system tray.

This simple and yet useful Twitter tool is developed in C# and WPF. Tweet Me! does not require any installation for working.

Instant Messaging in Twitter with T-Messenger

If you are tired of using the same Twitter applications, then you should be trying out T-Messenger. T-Messenger is an Adobe AIR based Twitter client for Windows, Linux and Mac which has some great features, interface and above all Instant messaging in Twitter. T-Messenger which is currently in beta has some good features when compared to other Twitter clients and it allows you to create groups of users very easily and then filter all the tweets depending on the group you choose.

Managing contacts and followers is one good feature in T-Messenger. You can group contacts and only display tweets from the selected users.

T-Messenger you just drag any picture from your computer, drop it in T-Messenger’s textbox and it will create a short URL for the image. Another feature of T-Messenger is that in case your Tweets are more than 140 characters, it makes it into multiple tweets, so that you dont miss anything. It also has a build in URL shortener. Now coming to one of the best features of T-Messenger, it can be used as an Instant Messenger. To do IM, double click any contact and enter the tweets in the window, all replies from the contact will be shown in the same window.

You will need to install Adobe Air to run this application. Overall we liked this Twitter client, although there was some issues in connecting, this could be due to the fact that it is still a beta version.
