Yahoo Messenger 10 also includes updates feature by which you can see what your contacts are saying on Twitter, reading on Yahoo! Buzz, listening to on last.fm, and more.

Apart from announcing Messenger 10, Yahoo also announced the all new enhanced Yahoo Mail which has gone in for a redesign and also enhanced with features like integration of third party apps Picnik, PayPal, My Photos and Big Sender. The new look of Yahoo Mail is refreshing with less clutter and ads.

The new attachment feature, will enable to drag and drop photos into your emails, upload multiple attachments and even upload whole folders at once. You will also be able to view thumbnails and rotate your photo attachments before sending them to your friends and family.

The new Yahoo mail will be rolled out gradually over a period of time to all users.

This picnik application allows you to crop, touch up, add effects and more to any of the photos that you have in your inbox or online. You can email them to friends, save them to your computer, or post to Websites like Flickr and Picasa.

With PayPal you can request and send money to almost anyone around the world right from Yahoo! Mail.

Apart from this Xoopit allows you organize and share all the photos in your Inbox from within one view and Share It from Zumo Drive, allows you to send and share large attachments (up to 100MB) with your friends and family. With Share It, you can share large files like videos, photos, and even entire folder.

The new applications are free and available to all US users of the new Yahoo! Mail. For those outside of the US, these will be rolled out to select markets later this summer.

You will be able to log into your Flickr account right from the email inbox and manage your photos.

According to a Yahoo’s Corporate blog the updated version of the service is already available for advertisers and third-party application developers, with Yahoo Small Business users to follow. Normal user might get this service only in 2009.

Yahoo Messenger for Vista also feature Email alerts, by clicking on the alert you can directly go to read the mail. This feature can also be disabled in the preferences.

While this might seem like an arbitrary limit, we thought long and hard about how video would complement the flickrverse. If you’ve memorized the Community Guidelines, you know that Flickr is all about sharing photos that you yourself have taken. Video will be no different and so what quickly bubbled up was the idea of “long photos,” of capturing slices of life to share.

There is no mention about whether this feature will be made available to free users as well. Videos will have all the features of photo stream like tagging, privacy setting etc. Currently video will be available in 8 languages.

Flickr also announced that they would be doubling the size of photos that can be uploaded — 20MB per photo for pro members and 10MB per photo for members with free accounts.

Flickr has been a photo site since its inception and it could be difficult for Flickr to capture video share. Flickr Video will not replace Yahoo Video, unlike Yahoo Photos, which was closed into Flickr. News.com is reporting that Beta of video service could be available in April, that means its only 14 more days to go. Its also rumoured that Yahoo Video will be more for the longer more professional movies while Flickr Video will be for those short clips you take with your camera.
